iRacing is Simracing
iRacing.com offers the most authentic online racing experience, using the latest technology for its staggering, ever-expanding lineup of famed racecars and courses. All of the painstaking details add up to a robust lineup of cars and tracks that are indistinguishable from the real thing — you’ll be instantly immersed upon entering the cockpit of an iRacing car. Every facet of our simulator is officially licensed and a laser scanned replica of its real-life counterpart.
The next-generation simracing software is used by professional drivers and casual gamers alike. Although it’s a motorsport simulator at heart, its value as a training tool can’t overshadow the thrilling racing experience that awaits casual gamers looking for a driving experience unlike any other. With its basic hardware requirements, anyone with a compatible PC and steering wheel set, as well as a broadband connection, can join tens-of-thousands of other racers already in our simracing community.
…the world’s premier motorsports racing simulation. iRacing puts you in the driver’s seat by allowing members to experience today’s newest form of competitive motorsport: virtual racing. iRacing is a fun, inexpensive and highly-competitive way for race fans and gamers to break a sweat by braking hard at the apex, while overcoming head-to-head racing challenges usually reserved for professional racers.
iRacing is the ultimate global racing portal. Whether you want to experience a NASCAR Cup car, an open-wheel IndyCar, an Australian V-8 Supercar, an IMSA Prototype or Touring Car, or the ultimate: an FIA Grand Prix car, iRacing’s online racing simulations offer them all. All you need is a computer equipped with one or more USB ports, and a digital wheel/pedal, or gamepad backed by a high-speed Internet connection. iRacing does the work for you by organizing and managing more than 40 official series, or you can choose to race in more than 400 private leagues or launch your own hosted events.
Who’s Behind iRacing?
iRacing.com was founded in September 2004 by Dave Kaemmer and John Henry. Now the CEO of iRacing, Kaemmer previously cofounded the Papyrus Design Group, developers of award-winning racing simulations that include NASCAR Racing: 2003 Season and Grand Prix Legends. Many of the talented programmers and artists from those legendary racing simulators were chosen to work on iRacing. An active racer in the real world, Kaemmer won 19 races in the Skip Barber Racing Championship and held the series’ lap record at Lime Rock Park.
Fellow cofounder Henry is the principal owner of the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool Football Club; he’s also an avid simracer and the co-owner of a leading NASCAR team, Roush Fenway Racing.
A Passion for Racing in the Real and Virtual Worlds
The iconic iRacing logo is a fixture at racetracks around the world. From the NASCAR Sprint Cup, IMSA Sports Car Series and Australian V-8 Supercar Series to autocrosses, SCCA Pro and Club races — wherever there’s racing you’ll find iRacing.
At iRacing.com, our bonafide racing roots are hard to miss. The team’s collective real-world racing resume includes professional experience in Formula One, SCCA, IMSA and more. Much of what our racing simulator is able to capture — which allows it to blur the line between simulator and reality — is a testament to our time spent behind the wheel. From amateur to professional races, our team’s broad racing experience is readily visible in our unrivaled racing simulator.
With the clout of a Daytona 500-winning team owner aboard, as well as NASCAR, Indy- and sports-car race team managers and engineers, and award-winning motorsport writers, we have assembled a team to create the benchmark for all other racers.
At iRacing.com, not only are our offices and cubicles adorned with racing memorabilia, but most of our workspaces also feature a steering wheel mounted to the desk. We are passionate simracers. iRacing is the combination of our passion, real-world racing experience and simracing background.
